If you take justice into your own hands you have a chance o going to jail yourself, i get how its easy to do stuff yourself because sometimes the police does not work fast enough but you have to think about your consequences before you take justice into your own hands.
ReplyDeleteI agree that you have to think about your consequences before you do the action your going to do, instead of calling the police.
Deletei agree you must weigh your consequences out first.
DeleteI know that taking the law into your own hands is not always the best idea. Sometimes you half to take it into your own hands and it could get people hurt because your probably not a professional. Having justice is different and i don't understand vigilante justice.
ReplyDeletei agree that it is always best to get professional help when your in that type of situation
DeleteI agree if you wait for authorities something really bad could happen if you wait for authorities.

ReplyDeleteIf you need to take justice in your hands you should but do it in a way were you won't get arrested. People think in situations were they have to defend themselves they have to shoot the person or something. This isn't GTA shoot everything you want get rich and run from the cops that isn't how things work best thing you can do to defend yourself is to just call the police they will handle the situation only use self defense when its absolutely necessary.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Every time you have to defend yourself it doesn't get you a "get away with murder" card.

ReplyDeleteI have always believed in vigilante justice . I hate how many murders have gotten away with a crime just because they have a good lawer and a lot of money (O.J Simpson , George Zimmerman , Casey Anthony) . If the jury believes the suspect has murdered or committed a horrific crime and has enough evidence , let the person walk away and let the local Government Hitman take care of it. We should have people who are trained like Dexter Morgan(look him up , it a great show and book).
I agree with you about the topic, and I think that your examples are really good.
DeleteI do believe that self defense is a very important matter in life. The reason why i agree that self defense is important is because it protects us from threats, like people that are being mean or a bully at your school. You just have to use self defense correctly. Only to protect yourself and others, never to hurt anyone else.
ReplyDeletei agree with that statement because if your put in a situation like bullying etc you should be able to fight back.
DeleteI think that if you use self defense you should not be arrested depending on the situation your put in. I also believe that you have the risk of going to jail if you do choose to use self defense.
ReplyDeleteI truly understand when it comes down to a situation that is about to hurt someone, you should leave it up to the police. The thing about it is, if your one to witness something happen, yes you should called 911, but I believe sometimes you need to take matter into your own hands. What happened if you didn't have a phone, or anyway to contact the police? You'd have to do what you gotta do, even if it is risking your self getting hurt...possibly your life. The government won't be able to protect you from EVERYTHING, they can try too...but they aren't gonna be holding your hand through out the day. If something occurs in that day which happens to be an awful event, sometimes you'll have to take matter into your own hands and do what you need to do to help the situation and survive.

ReplyDeleteTaking justice in your own hands could be bad. Many times i tried fixing thing i should not have any business in. but when matters involve me my family or my friends i have to do something about it. I don't care what the consequence is. i will take action to defend myself and others. I will take control of a situation my self any way.
ReplyDeleteI believe on certain occasions taking matters into your own hands is necessary. I know teachers are always telling you to walk away but in my opinion at certain times situations can be inevitable. For example is someone in school pushes you and you fall or there raiding through your stuff or they even walk up to you and hits you there is no way of just walking away from someone hitting you. You have to stand up for yourself, if someone hit me purposely trying to hurt me i think they are first violating your space and attacking you so i would call hitting them back self defense. Even the law can't say thats not self defense because that person is trying to harm you physically and that is when your safety is on the line. Its hard to walk away from someone physically attacking you because they can keep on attacking you, what are you suppose to do? get up and walk away while there punching you in the face repeatedly? i think not, thats near impossible.
ReplyDeleteIf I were you don't take action your self. If so then you now have a chance of getting arrested yourself and the actual criminal may go free. Its better to hide, cry, then call the police so they can deal with the situation themselves. But if that doesn't work and if they don't show up and time and you're getting hurt by this random person then go ahead and swing away. But remember on what the consequences would be at the end.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, this is Xavier C
I agree because you don't take action your self . It is better to hide , but i don't agree with swinging away . i think that will make the situation worse .
DeleteI agree. people get mad and think taking justice into their own hands is getting revenge and thats not right. Its okay to believe in something but if you can't do it don't do it. You will be getting yourself into a lot of trouble over something that could of been taken care of in a better and professional way.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of Batman who is a vigilante, although he is trying to help the police by doing things they can't do he still gets in trouble and the police are still after him. I think vigilante justice is only okay on certain accounts to help the police with something small, but trying to solve a whole case on your own without the police's permission is wrong. Vigilantes might think they're helping with the case, but they aren't trained to do these things like police. And even if they do help, it is still not allowed so what they're doing isn't completely good. I believe the police know what they're doing and we should let them do their job.
ReplyDeleteI agree with christian, you do run the risk of imprisonment, but if you are looking for instant gratification without regard for consequences, then swag.
ReplyDeleteI know that you can take the law into your own hands when it is right. Like for instance if someone ran up on you and started hitting you ,you have the right to hit them back and defend your self.
ReplyDeleteI disagree, that is self defense and you're not taking the law into your own hands, you are just protecting yourself.
DeleteI agree with you Eli. I agree on the part that if someone runs up to you, starts beating you, you will most likely fight/hit back. That's not seeking revenge, or anything, if someone is hitting you, you have the vigilante justice to use self defense. I disagree when Eli say that is an example of taking justice into your own hand. I disagree because using self defense is not the same as taking justice into your hands. (Ex. Self-defense is if someone might be trying to hit/punch/fight you, while at the same time if someone was getting robbed at the bank, you go in and save the hostages, that's an example of taking justice into your hand) Don't you see the difference in between them ?
DeleteI agree that Vigilante Justice is more about revenge than self - defense. It is more about revenge because if a criminal would hurt you or one someone from your family, you would want to get revenge and punish them. It is risky too because you would be doing something without legal authority. To be safe you shouldn't risk it and just let law enforcement handle your situation.
ReplyDeleteI agree that vigilante justice is revenge . I think its revenge cause it can be dangerous taking the law into your own hands . It can be life taking . You shouldn't make a bad decision . You should make a good decision .
ReplyDeleteI agree that taking justice in your own hands can cause some trouble but, You might have to defend yourself at point. Like lets say you get attacked by someone. You can't try to pull your phone out and call for help because it would be hard to do when someones attacking you. You would need to defend yourself so you don't get hurt. But if its a different situation where you can get your phone and call for help I suggest you do that instead of risking it and getting arrested.
ReplyDeleteI agree that, that you should take justice into your own hands if you really need to.If someone is trying to swing at you and they do I think you should protect yourself and fight back, defend yourself, and serve justice, because i don't think people should hit you and you not do anything or they get away with it easily.
ReplyDeleteI agree about vigilant justice when it comes to yourself, like if someone hits you it's called self defense your automatically going to hit them back because thats reflexes. Otherwise when it comes to other people I don't think you should get involved. For example if you see someone house getting robbed it's not your job to go be a hero and save the day just call the police it's their job.
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't agree that vigilante justice is more revenge than self-defense. I think if there is a crime that is near by, call the police because thats their job. I also believe if you are getting hit or beat on, you can/should fight back. At the same time if they run up to you, throw a punch, hit you in the face and run off, you probably won't chase them, you will just get "revenge" on them next time you see them, or next time it is possible. I believe you should use self-defense, but don't use vigilante justice to cover up a revenge seeking.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion i think taking justice into your own hands is a matter of being able to stand your ground and think before you do because if someone is getting hurt and you want to help but your not sure if you can take on the responsibility then you might get hurt if you don't think it through. its okay to want to help but in some situations you can get yourself into trouble. make the right choices and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI believe that you should take matters in your own hands if the situation you are handling is an small misunderstanding. For example phoenix jones and purple reign
ReplyDeletestop small crimes on city night streets,by just recording the crime and then stoping the criminal that is a form of taking control in your own hands without causing such problems
I believe that vigilante justice is a good thing it let's people handle an situation like for an example if you get robbed your going to chase the person and try to get your belongings that vigilante justice because you are standing up for yourself and getting
ReplyDeletewhat belong to you,but if there a problem like a person being robbed with multiple people involved then let law enforcement handle the situation
